first of all, did you know that ethopia has a been a country for over 2,000 years? thats insane. i cant think of any other country on the planet that has continuously been a country for over 2,000 years.

also, in laos there is an mountainous ethnic group called the hmong (i kind of have a fascination with them), and these peoples ethnicity can be traced back to the ice age. its pretty crazy. anyway, in the vietnamese war they fought with the united states against viet cong forces in laos, and when north vietnam won, they fled the country and came to the US. these people had no system of writing until they came here. they were a 100% agricultural people. it is almost impossible for these people to assimilate into american society. its a pretty strange phenomenon. but anyway, this ethnicity suffers from a unique disease, and it ONLY happens to ONLY men in the US. it is called hmong sudden death syndrome. survivors describe it as a welling up of air and energy trying to escape their bodies, and they have to try for their life to force it back down and not let it out. many hmong wives have woken up in the night to their husbands struggling for breath and just dying. docters can find absolutly nothing physically wrong with them. i have multiple theories running through my head on this one. in thailand i want to try to make it east and see a village or something.
